MINWOOD LANE MANAGEMENT

A Fresh, Fearless and Friendly approach to Representation.

OUR BOOKS ARE OPEN

Minwood Lane Management is a boutique agency, specialising in representing Children & Young Performers for Television, Commercials, Musical Theatre, Photographic Bookings & Modelling.

Your child's development and aspirations are extremely important to us...

Therefore we are determined to find them roles that fuel their creativity, encourage them to be fearless with their talents and have fun learning about the industry.

PLEASE NOTE:

Minwood Lane Management do not charge a registrations fee in compliance with the BIS Regulations.

Audition

To be represented by us...

At Minwood Lane we like to meet all potential applicants through an invite only audition process. Our books open twice a year for 0-21 year olds.

It is important that this audition takes place as it gives us an opportunity to meet you, get a feel for your personality and get a clearer vision of your pathway into the industry.

We also hold regular 'catch up workshops' throughout the year to ensure we are always putting you forward for the right roles and improving your skills.

Children aged 3 years and under are not expected to audition, however they will be invited for an initial test shoot. Young children that can easily adapt to new/ unknown environments and unfamiliar people are more favourable due to casting and filming conditions.

Spotlight

To be put forward for jobs...

Spotlight Children and Young Performers Directory is the UKs definitive and casting directors most trusted database of performers aged 4-25. Children can join anytime after their 4th Birthday - they must be represented by an agent and have a professional headshot to be eligible for Spotlight Membership. Spotlight charge an annual fee of £106 (inc VAT).

Minwood Lane Management do not work on behalf of Spotlight. We do however strongly advise all our artists to join Spotlight in order to be promoted effectively to vetted industry professionals.

Casting

To showcase your talents...

Castings take place around the United Kingdom and can be at very short notice - often with 24hrs notice. It is important to be available, reliable and punctual.

Castings more commonly take place in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Wales and Scotland.

Parents/ legal guardians need to be easily contactable, it is important that calls are answered or returned fairly quickly to avoid disappointment. Casting turnarounds can be extremely fast.

It is inevitable that castings and assignments will at times clash with school and other commitments, so please bare this in mind when deciding whether you would like your child to work within this industry.

Child Performance Licence

To cover legalities...

Due to the Children (Performances and Activities)(England) Regulations 2014. All children under the age of school leaving age (after the last Friday in June of the academic year in which they are 16) are required to obtain a licence from their local authority. This means if a child is to miss school for a performance they must have obtained a license.

'Performance' covers Television Programmes, Film, Radio, Commercials, Modelling and a Stage show. The child will need to have their licence before the performance takes place. The law requests 21 days to process a licence application, however most local authorities request atleast 7 working days to do so - before the first performance.

This will be arranged by us on behalf of your child.

Booking

To get the job done...

We represent artists for all types of work including:

Television
Film
Theatre
Commercials
Photographic
Radio
Corporate

Most bookings will take place during the week (Mon-Fri) the length of the assignment will be dependent of the type. The time required will decifer wether parent/legal guardian will need to chaperone or whether the production company will need to supply a licensed chaperone.

If you are above 16yrs you are regarded as an adult therefore you will not require a parent/legal guardian or chaperone on assignment.

Artist Assignments

Although we expect our artists to be available for work when needed we CANNOT guarantee assignments.

We will always put artists forward for castings/assignments whereby they meet the criteria. We do our utmost to promote our artists, however the final decision rests with the client.

Sole Agency

Minwood Lane Management is a sole agency, therefore our artists must not be associated with another agency whilst represented by us.

This enables us to do our job more effectively, avoids confusion and ensures casting directors do not receive duplicate entries - as this is time consuming and deemed unprofessional.

Our representation is offered for 12 months at a time, unless either party gives 30 days written notice and a valid reason.

Photography

At Minwood Lane Management it is compulsory that all our artists have an agency approved professional headshot at least once a year.

Our proposed photographers ensure that photographs taken are of a high standard and are uniform in their presentation for our client areas. We do encourage parents to send in additional images that demonstrate a skill.

However a professional portfolio is not required to join.
